Marco Beverage Systems Ltd. (referred to as “we”, “us” or “Marco” in this statement) is the controller of your personal data. Our main office is located at 74 Heather Road, Sandyford Industrial Estate, Dublin 18, Ireland and you can contact us by phone at 01 2952674 or by email at info@marco.ie.

We take your privacy very seriously and we’ll only use your personal information to fulfil our contract obligations with you. We collect only the data that’s necessary for that purpose. Marco does not store any sensitive personal data about you. The purpose of this privacy statement is to detail the personal information Marco may collect about you in line with the new GDPR legislation.

Marco processes your personal data based on GDPR’s seven principles:

  • Lawfulness, fairness and transparency – we identified appropriate lawful bases for processing your personal data, we make sure we don’t do anything with it in breach of any other laws, we considered how the processing may affect the individuals concerned and we inform them how their data is processed from the start in an open and honest way;
  • Purpose limitation – we clearly identified the purposes for processing your personal data and we don’t process it for any other reasons;
  • Data minimisation – we collect only the personal data that’s necessary to fulfil our identified purposes;
  • Accuracy – we are taking all the necessary steps to make sure the personal data we process is accurate and up to date;
  • Storage limitation – we don’t keep the personal data more than we need it and we have set retention periods for all personal data types;
  • Integrity and confidentiality (security) – we make sure we have the appropriate security measures in place to protect the personal data we hold. All our personal data is backed-up regularly both on premises and in the cloud;
  • Accountability – Marco takes responsibility for what it does with your personal data and for how it complies with the other principles of GDPR. We are putting in place appropriate technical and organisational measures to comply with the GDPR legislation.

What personal data we collect, why and what we do with it

SALES AND PURCHASES

When you buy a product or a service from us we have a contractual obligation to you to deliver you the best possible experience. We collect your personal data in order to deliver you the goods or services, to manage your payments, to manage and improve our products and services and to communicate with you about any issues related to them.

When we purchase a product or a service from you we have a contractual obligation to you to receive the good or service, to manage the payments and to communicate with you about any issue related to the product or service.

We’re collecting the following personal data about you:

  • Contact details: name, address, phone number, email address
  • Financial data: bank details, payment details, VAT number. Marco does not store credit or debit card details, we only store the receipts of the payments

PRE-SALES

When you contact us to ask for information about our products or services or to ask for a quote, we have to make sure you receive the best possible result in a timely manner. Marco has a pre-contractual obligation to provide you with the information you request and that is why we collect the following information about our potential customers:

  • Contact details: name, address, phone number, email address

MARKETING

Marco may send you emails from time to time to inform you about our products or services, trade shows, promotions or marketing campaigns. We will do this only if we have your consent and we’ll collect only the minimum personal data for that purpose: your name and email address. If you wish to subscribe to our marketing lists, please contact us at info@marco.ie.

WEBSITE

When you use our website, we collect technical information about you in order to improve your experience with our website as well as our products and services. We collect data like IP address, your login data, browser details (type and version, plugins type and version), operating system type and version. We also use web beacons in our website to see what sections of the website you are accessing and to improve your experience with them.

COOKIES POLICY

Our website uses cookies to distinguish you from other users of our website. This allows us to provide you with a good experience when you browse our website and also allows us to improve our site. A cookie is a small file containing letters and numbers that we store on your browser or the hard drive of your computer. Cookies contain information that is transferred to your computer’s hard drive.

  • Strictly necessary cookies – these are cookies that are required for the operation of our website
  • Analytical/performance cookies – they allow us to recognise and count the number of visitors and to see how visitors move around our website when they are using it. This helps us to improve the way our website works, for example, by ensuring that users are finding what they are looking for easily

We will use this information to make our website and the advertising displayed on it more relevant to your interests. We may also share this information with third parties for this purpose

DATA STORAGE AND SECURITY

We store our data on multiple servers located in our main office in Dublin. Marco takes technical and organisational security measures which are set out in law and by industry standards to ensure we protect your personal data from unauthorised access, use or disclosure.

How long we keep your data

If you are one of our customers, suppliers or partners we’ll keep your contact and financial data for a period of 7 years after the last interaction with you.

Pre-sales data is kept for no more than 3 years after the last interaction with you and the marketing data is kept until you withdraw your consent (unsubscribe from the list).

Who do we share your data with

Contact and financial data of all our customers, suppliers and partners are shared with Revenue and banks (yours & ours). We may also share your data with audit companies for audit purposes. Marco is an international company with its main office in Dublin. Depending on your location, your data may be shared with our offices in UK, US, Dubai or Netherlands.

If you need a repair for a product you purchased from us or from our partners, we may share your data with one of our service partners. If you ordered a product from us we may share your contact data with our freight partners.

Personal data for potential customers is shared with our partner that provides our CRM system. If you opted in to receive marketing emails, your data is shared with our partner that provides our marketing email system but strictly for the contract and purpose intended.

What are your rights

  • Right to object – in certain circumstances, you have the right to object to the processing of your personal data
  • Right to erasure (right to be forgotten) – in certain circumstances, you have the right to have your personal data erased
  • Right to rectification – you have the right to have your data corrected if it is inaccurate or incomplete
  • Right to be informed – you have the right to be informed about the collection and use of your personal data
  • Right of access – you have the right to request a copy of the information that we hold about you
  • Right of data portability – you have the right to have the data we hold about you transferred to another organisation
  • Right to restrict processing – you have the right to request the restriction or suppression of your personal data
  • Right to complain – you have the right to complain to the supervisory authority by contacting the Data Protection Commissioner at info@dataprotection.ie
  • Right to withdraw your consent – you have the right to withdraw your consent for receiving marketing emails at any time. You can do that by using the Unsubscribe link at the bottom of any marketing email you have received from us. Alternatively, you can contact us at info@marco.ie and we will remove you from the marketing list.

You can exercise any of these rights by contacting us at info@marco.ie and we will respond as quick as possible but no later than 30 days. You will not have to pay a fee for that, but we may charge a reasonable fee if your request is clearly unfounded or excessive. We may ask you for a proof of identity which will not be stored after the identification process is over. This is for us to make sure your personal data is not disclosed to someone else.
