Hello everyone.
As you may have seen, we’ve been working alongside our friends at La Marzocco, Cafe Imports and Workshop Coffee Co. to bring A Film About Coffee (www.afilmaboutcoffee.co.uk) to audiences across the UK. And now, we’re delighted to announce that Marco will be hosting screenings in Ireland, kicking off with the Eye Cinema in Galway.
A Film About Coffee follows the production of coffee from farms in Honduras and harvests in Rwanda to its global consumption. Listening to farmers, buyers, roasters and baristas about the crop’s economic and environmental implications both locally and abroad, the narrative travels to coffee shops in Tokyo, Portland, Seattle, San Francisco and New York, with stops in between. Dropping in on artisanal cafes to investigate how each prepares its own unique cup, the film opens a window into the little-understood world of speciality coffee.
On the evening of November 27th we will welcome coffee and film lovers alike to Galway’s beautiful Eye Cinema for a celebration of the delights of both the cup and the screen. Alongside the screening we have partnered up with 3fe and Badger and Dodo to provide fantastic coffee service on the night.
We are particularly happy to have partnered with the Eye on this occasion as they have a proud tradition of running Art House movies in a fantastic surrounding (the panoramic views of Lough Atalia are worth the visit alone) and it is, hands down, the best cinema on the West Coast.
You can buy tickets here and visit the film’s website here. Tickets are priced at €12, doors are at 7pm, coffee will be served in the very cool bar in advance…
And there will be the usual familiar Marco faces, the JET and some exquisite coffee there from even earlier.
Come along, join in the fun and enjoy a great film.
We, of course, couldn’t do this without the help and support of the film’s national partners.
